Thanks mate your a diamond ive just left a post on the other green goo thread how what can this stuff do to you.
Green stuff on electrical plug.
Apart from make your eyelid burn when you rub it like i did i might end up like that bloke.
Or replace it they are not expensive.
Anytime copper corrodes it gives off a green film.
The green liquid is definitely coming out of both prongs on the plug only when current is passing through it.
Electrical wires are usually made from copper and as such prone to oxidation.
The outlet spray it then blow it out and you will be good to go.
Replace the outlets with air tight electrical boxes or at least put gaskets under the face plates and anti draft plugs into the unused outlets.
Therefore whenever this green substance is found at socket outlets etc.
I was walking down the hall at work and noticed some green stains on the receptacles at work.
The electrical wires will appear to have a white or greenish powder coating on them and they will lose their conductive properties.
If connected to a battery the subsequent corrosion can take the form of acid leakage.
Apparently the copper wires in the plug are corroding.
This will make this hole in the wall air tight stop the hot and cold air drafts and keep the moisture away from the cold hence stopping the condensation.
The green substance is a combination of copper oxide and plasticiser which is conductive.
It should be removed and the terminations cleaned gloves should be worn otherwise it is possible that tracking overheating may occur.
Spray with wd 40 and wipe it down.
This is a 24 year old 10 color set that has been sitting in a closet for years.
Moisture has corroded the copper.
